Scouting Jamboree On the Air
The Cal Poly Amateur Radio Club will be sponsoring Scouts Jamboree On The Air
This year the event is on Saturday October 17th from 11:00 to 15:00 (on the air from 12:00 to 14:30 PM). We will set up at the grassy hill area of Rancho Grande Park in Arroyo Grande.
Jamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is the largest Scouting event in the world. It is held annually the third full weekend in October. JOTA uses amateur radio to link Scouts and hams around the world, around the nation, and in your own community. This jamboree requires no travel, other than to a nearby amateur radio operator’s ham shack. Many times you can find the hams will come to you by setting up a station at your Scout camporee, at the park down the block, or perhaps at a ham shack already set up at your council’s camp.

The Central Coast Amateur Radio Group (CCARG)

The CCARG is a member of the
South County Chambers of Commerce.
The club was formed by David Qualls K6AYK in Grover Beach on 6-12-2022.
We are an ARRL Affiliated Club.
The objectives of CCARG are to provide training and certification for Amateur Radio licensed operators.
We also support the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Disaster Plan and public-safety communications for 5 Cities local events.
We conduct regular training drills, participate annually in ARRL Field Day training, and host other fun events throughout the South County area of San Luis Obispo County on California’s Central Coast.
The Club maintains a Vanity amateur Radio Station License W6WJ.
We are currently supporting the city of Grover Beach at the request of Chief Jim Munro, with the Grover Beach Dunes 5K Race and the Grover Beach Holiday Parade. Seven of our trained operators with handheld radios and CCARG official yellow vests participated. We support, most amateur radio contests, and having fun is the clubs main goal.

On the third Wednesday of every month at 7pm we conduct a club meeting at the Grover Beach Community Center at 1230 Trouville Ave. Grover Beach
There is a CCARG Ham Breakfast on the first Saturday of each month at 10:00am at the Goofy Foot Grill, next to the Amtrak Station. 170 W Grand Ave in Grover Beach
